About the Author. At various times in her life Susan Mokelke has been a
lawyer, educator, video producer, technical writer, and essayist. For 15 years she
worked with a non-profit foundation concerned with issues of unity--our
fundamental oneness with each other, with other living beings and with the natural
world--and the practical implications for our daily lives. Currently she works with
the Foundation for Shamanic Studies and is teaching and studying shamanism, an
ancient healing practice. She lives in California with her husband and various furry
companions.
